This year has been a very good one for Fox News as it had its best ratings ever in a non-election year.

The data comes from Nielsen Media Research and was released Monday, per Mediaite.

Fox News averaged 2.72 million primetime viewers in 2025. This was an increase of 14% and was led by “Jesse Watters Primetime, Greg Gutfeld’s show and Sean Hannity’s long-running program.

This primetime average was 80% higher than both CNN and MS NOW combined.

The top primetime show belonged to Watters which averaged 3.6 million viewers.

Overall, this year was the Fox News’ second best year ever, trailing 2020.

Should Fox News continue its current programming approach after achieving record ratings in 2025?

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott expressed pride in the network’s numbers.

“Delivering another record-breaking year, outpacing broadcast networks, and reaching new highs on YouTube is a testament to the strength of our brand and our ability to meet the audience where they are,” Scott said “I am incredibly proud of our unrivaled team on and off camera, whose journalism, global newsgathering skills and powerful voices continue to set the standard in news and connect with Americans nationwide.”

The ratings jump coincided with President Donald Trump’s return to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

This has resulted in Fox News interviewing Trump and members of his Cabinet this year.

Bret Baier spoke to Trump about the economy and Hannity interviewed Trump with then-DOGE head Elon Musk.

Fox News averaged 3.2 million viewers during primetime between Monday and Friday. NBC came in second with 3.1 million viewers.
