Republican governors are receiving some praise for their effort to relocate migrants to other states, because of what it could expose about Democrats.

During a segment of Comedy Central’s “Hell of a Week,” host Charlamagne tha God brought up the efforts by Republican governors to transport migrants to other parts of the country.

“For months, Republican governors have sent busloads of illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities like New York, D.C., and Chicago with the message of ‘If you like them so much, they’re yours,'” he said.

He went on, “Just in time for Hispanic Heritage Month, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis upped the game by sending two plane fulls of immigrants to the East Coast’s elite’s favorite vacation island: Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. I personally think it’s genius.”

A different camera angle showed his panelists seemed to be either appalled or waiting for a punchline.

“But I wish that governors like Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott would give Democratic governors and mayors more of a heads-up because then that would expose the hypocrisy of the Democrats. Which is they don’t want immigrants here either,” he explained.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) started sending buses carrying migrants to Washington, D.C., in April, as IJR reported.

The move is an effort to bring attention to the situation at the southern border.

In a Sept. 9 press release, Abbott’s office stated that at least 10,000 migrants had been bused to New York City, Washington, D.C., and Chicago collectively.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) also started paying for buses to carry migrants to other states.

And last week, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) upped the ante of the plot by flying 50 migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

However, their stay on the island was short-lived as, on Friday, they were relocated to Joint Base Cape Cod.

Meanwhile, New York City officials said they will help migrants who did not want to wind up in the city get to other destinations in the country.

The move by the Republican governors has drawn fierce criticism from Democrats and migrant advocates.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) also criticized Abbott for not coordinating with the communities migrants were being sent to prior to their arrival.
