Halloween 2025 was reminiscent of Halloween 2019 at the White House as President Donald Trump and the first lady handed out candy Thursday.

As he did in 2019, Trump placed the candy atop of a child’s DJ Marshmello costume instead of the trick-or-treat bag.

The child was confused and held his head back to see what Trump was doing. The child then walked off with the candy bar on his head.

The president pulled the same move six years ago with a child dressed up as a minion from the Disney movie “Despicable Me.”

Posters on social media immediately made the connection between the two Halloween moments.

Should President Trump continue the candy tradition at Halloween events?

“PART TWO: President Trump just put a candy bar on a trick-or-treaters head AGAIN,” conservative commentator Benny Johnson said on X where he added a laughing emoji.

“NO WAY! President Trump just put a candy bar on some kid’s head dressed as a marshmallow at the White House Halloween Party and made him balance it while waddling off,” one of Johnson’s producers, Danny De Urbina, posted. “He knows the meme. Gangster.”

Those trick or treating at the White House included parents and children of military and law enforcement personnel, foster and adoptive families and White House staff.
