House Dems Unveil Impeachment Resolution Against Trump: ‘Incitement of Insurrection’

House Democrats are unveiling an article of impeachment against President Donald Trump, charging him with “incitement of insurrection.”

The resolution was unveiled early Monday and will be introduced at 11 a.m. EST. It is expected to be voted on this week.

This comes amid strong criticism condemning Trump for his behavior last week as protestors stormed the U.S. Capitol.

The resolution reads, “In all this, President Trump gravely endangered the security of the United States and its institutions of Government.”

It continues, “He threatened the integrity of the democratic system, interfered with the peaceful transition of power, and imperiled a coequal branch of Government. He thereby betrayed his trust as President, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.”

If passed, this would make it the second time Trump would be impeached by the House of Representatives — the first in U.S. history a president would be impeached twice.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in a letter to her Democratic colleagues on Sunday that House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) will be requesting unanimous consent on Monday to bring up a resolution that calls on Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment.

It would “declare the President incapable of executing the duties of his office,” Pelosi’s letter reads. This would mean Pence would be in charge until President-elect Joe Biden is inaugurated on Jan. 20.

She said if it is blocked then the House will bring up the legislation on Tuesday and give Pence 24 hours to respond.

“Next, we will proceed with bringing impeachment legislation to the Floor,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi said of the push to invoke the 25th Amendment during an interview with CBS’ Leslie Stahl, “Well, I like the 25th Amendment because it gets rid of him. He’s out of office. But there is strong support in the Congress for impeaching the president a second time.”

  1. Well, Vajay, you asked glen where he got his law degree. Where did you get your position as a judge. You’re such a baby. Stupid Democrats like Pelosi and Schumer along with Biden and Harris are the ones that will build this division into a revolution. Democrats are acting exactly like the British did in the 1770s. Depriving people of their rights is tyranny and the Democrats will pay.

    1. Ahh Chuckie Cheese strikes again. You are wrong as usual. What’s driving this division is the dozen white supremacist
Groups and Mafia Don is only the figurehead. That’s you Chuckie…a racist POS. Lol

  2. You have to say, Democrats are consistent. They have wasted 4 years in attempting to impeach Trump. They did nothing for the American people. Democrats are the ones that should be impeached. f

    1. Chuckie….trump will be impeached after he leaves office so he will never be able to run for the local dog catcher let alone president. You crazies are being rounded up in the next 6 weeks. Lol. The dumb asses had so many clues on them to identify them. Talk about stupid crooks.

  3. Trump didn’t do anything. The rioters and the Capitol did. Need to drop the impeachment part as this will get all who voted fir it in trouble with the American citizens.

    1. “Need to drop the impeachment part as this will get all who voted fir it in trouble with the American citizens.” Ron

Now THAT is a very interesting claim, Ron. Does the same thing not apply to the seditionists, who tried to egg on fellow American Fascists, in Congress? Don’t you think that a few voters will keep THEIR actions in mind for their next elections, too, if they are still allowed to run? Two in particular, Cruz and Hawley, are likely going to be HAMMERED in their next primary because they will be “in trouble with the American citizens”! Agreed?
