As the Trump administration continues its crackdown over Washington, D.C., a Spanish-language Facebook group is documenting federal immigration enforcement activity across the city.

President Donald Trump launched a federal law enforcement takeover of the nation’s capital earlier in August, forcing local law enforcement to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and igniting a steady drop in crime. While ICE agents continue to make apprehensions throughout the area, DMV Noticias, a local Facebook group, has repeatedly posted alleged sightings of immigration agents.

DMV Noticias — which translates to “DMV News,” using a widely adopted acronym by locals for the greater Washington, D.C. metro area encompassing D.C., Maryland and Virginia — appears to be a social media aggregator of user content, sharing videos, pictures and other information submitted by locals. The Spanish-language site also makes occasional posts about current events and highway accidents.

“Not only is our ICE law enforcement facing a more than 1,000% increase in assaults, but we’ve also seen thugs launch websites to reveal ICE officers’ identity,” A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official stated to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “We will prosecute those who dox ICE agents to the fullest extent of the law.”

“If you obstruct or assault our law enforcement, we will hunt you down and you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the DHS official continued.

An email associated with DMV Noticias did not respond to a request for comment and no one answered when the DCNF called a phone number listed on the group’s page.

The local Facebook group also posts prolifically about purported federal immigration activity in the area. In the span of roughly one hour on Friday, the group posted images of an apparent Border Patrol arrest on 14th Street, Washington, D.C., Border Patrol activity near the Rhode Island metro station and what appears to be video of immigration agents at a residential home.

The posts appear to be more than simple notifications of federal activity, with descriptions such as “they took away two young men and one young woman,” to describe an alleged immigration arrest around Riverdale Park, Maryland.

The Facebook group has been able to meticulously cover immigration enforcement activity to its nearly 200,000 followers. A Daily Caller News Foundation review counted at least 20 posts appearing to relate to local immigration enforcement activity over the span of just 24 hours.

“News, celebrity gossip, and what’s happening in the DMV and the world from WASHINGTON | MARYLAND AND VIRGINIA,” reads a translated description on DMV Noticias’ page.

The group’s activity comes as the Trump administration has placed a heavy hand on law enforcement in Washington, D.C. Earlier in August, Attorney General Pam Bondi issued an executive order that directs the District of Columbia’s police force — who have long been subject to sanctuary policies — to completely cooperate with ICE and other federal immigration authorities.

The Trump administration has deployed hundreds of National Guard members and other federal law enforcement officials to D.C. in an effort to mitigate the city’s crime rate. These efforts have yielded tangible success, according to a Daily Caller review of Metropolitan Police Department data. When comparing crime statistics from a two-week period over Trump’s federal law enforcement takeover to the same time periods in 2024 and 2023, there is a sharp drop in crime — a 21% drop in 2024 and 33% drop in 2023.

In July, ICE acting director Todd Lyons condemned ICEBlock, a viral app that tracks ICE activity, arguing it puts law enforcement agents in harm’s way. DHS issued a similar statement when asked for comment about DMV Noticias, noting that it wouldn’t hesitate to arrest those that dox agents or obstruct enforcement activity.
