Former Democrat Blasts Crockett Over Talarico Snub

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, is facing criticism after her political action committee left James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Texas, off a list of candidates it endorsed.

Crockett’s Fueling Individual Rights Everywhere, or FIRE, PAC announced support for 14 candidates on Monday, according to Fox News.

Talarico, who defeated Crockett in the Democratic Senate primary earlier this year, was not included.

Former Rep. Susan Wild, D-Pa., responded sharply on X, arguing that Crockett’s decision reflected personal differences rather than a focus on helping Democrats compete in Texas.

“F--- her. That’s all I can say,” Wild wrote, later accusing Crockett of using her platform to advance herself.

Crockett has become a prominent figure within the Democratic Party during her time in Congress, drawing national attention for her outspoken style and progressive politics. She has also faced repeated criticism for comments directed at political opponents and other public figures.

Among the remarks that have drawn backlash were her reference to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels,” her description of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and comments about Latino voters who support the MAGA movement.

More recently, Crockett faced criticism after entering singer Chris Brown into the congressional record in recognition of his influence in the Black community despite his history of violence against women.

Crockett responded to the criticism over the Talarico endorsement list by pointing out that she had already congratulated him after his primary victory.

“Y’all are corny! Keep receipts,” Crockett wrote on X. She also urged critics and news organizations to focus on Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton rather than what she described as a manufactured controversy.

Talarico defeated Crockett 52.4% to 46.2% in the March Democratic primary. Crockett publicly endorsed him the following day, saying Democrats needed to unite behind their nominees.

“This is about the future of all 30 million Texans,” Crockett wrote at the time. She also said she remained committed to helping elect Democrats across the ballot.

The FIRE PAC has raised $144,960 and has primarily focused on smaller political races. The 14 candidates included in Monday’s endorsement announcement are all running for state or local offices.

Gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa was also absent from the list, meaning Talarico was not the only prominent Texas Democrat left off the PAC’s endorsements.
