Nicki Minaj is making her position in New York's gubernatorial race clear, launching a series of attacks against Gov. Kathy Hochul and encouraging voters to support Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman.
According to Fox News, the rapper took to X on Wednesday to criticize Hochul over several past remarks, accusing the governor of remaining silent on issues involving innocent people.
Minaj also appealed directly to Black voters and Christians, arguing that Hochul should not receive their support in the Nov. 3 election.
"Kathy Hochul is an evil woman. The Democratic Party should forfeit her seat because even if she wins, she will be of great consequence to them," Minaj wrote. She also invoked religion, warning that the governor would not escape God's judgment.
One of the videos Minaj shared featured Hochul's controversial 2024 comments about Black children in the Bronx and their lack of familiarity with computers.
During the remarks, Hochul suggested some children growing up in the borough did not know what a computer was. The governor later apologized, saying she had misspoken and regretted the comment.
Minaj used the clip to question why Black voters would continue supporting Hochul.
"How much more do you need to see & hear from them?!! How dare you as black people vote for this vile wicked curse of a woman? How dare you as Christians?!"
She finished the post with a direct message encouraging voters to back Blakeman.
The rapper also resurfaced a separate moment in 2025, when Hochul addressed a predominantly Black congregation at True Bethel Baptist Church while promoting her inflation rebate initiative.
During the appearance, Hochul joked about occasionally stopping at liquor stores before encouraging attendees to spend money on food and other necessities for their children. The church's bishop defended the remarks afterward, saying they were delivered in the context of his sermon.
Minaj criticized the governor again after sharing that footage, questioning her judgment and associations.
Hochul addressed the rapper's criticism during a recent campaign appearance, suggesting Minaj's political views had been influenced by her association with President Donald Trump.
"You can ask her what she's been, how she's been poisoned by Donald Trump," Hochul said.
The governor also dismissed the idea that the exchange was a celebrity rivalry when asked about potentially receiving an endorsement from Cardi B.
