North Carolina Shooting Leaves 2 Dead and 2 Fighting for Their Lives

Two people were killed and two others were critically injured after a shooting inside a Gaston County, North Carolina, home Thursday morning, according to police.

According to Fox News, officers with the Gaston County Police Department were dispatched to the residence shortly before 8:45 a.m. following a 911 call reporting gunfire. When they arrived, they found four people inside suffering from gunshot wounds.

Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The other two were rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Police have identified a person of interest in connection with the shooting, though officials have not released additional details about that individual.

Investigators believe the person involved in the shooting and the victims knew each other. Authorities also said they believe the incident was isolated, meaning there is no known continuing danger to residents in the surrounding Gaston County community.
