Trump Warns Maria Bartiromo Fans Won’t Be Happy After Fox News Departure

President Donald Trump reacted sharply to Maria Bartiromo’s sudden departure from Fox News Media, praising the longtime anchor and warning that her supporters may not take the news well.

Trump addressed Bartiromo’s exit Thursday night on Truth Social, saying he was surprised that she was no longer hosting her programs on Fox News and Fox Business, according to the New York Post.

He praised her work across three shows and described her as a “true warrior.”

“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” Trump wrote. “Three different shows, always number one.”

“Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior,” he added, before warning that her “fans, of which there are many, will not be happy.”

Fox News Media announced Bartiromo’s departure Thursday after more than 12 years with the company. The network provided no detailed explanation, saying only that she was no longer with Fox News Media and thanking her for her service.

Bartiromo’s exit was effective immediately. Her Fox Business program, “Mornings with Maria,” aired its final episode Thursday and is being replaced by “Mornings with FOX Business,” which will feature rotating anchors. Her other programs are also being rebranded or assigned temporary hosts.

The abrupt move quickly sparked speculation about what Bartiromo might do next, including rumors that she could take over as White House press secretary.

Vice President JD Vance pushed back on that possibility while speaking to reporters. He praised Bartiromo but said he did not expect her to join the White House.

“I love Maria. I think she’s an amazing person, amazing talent,” Vance said. “Whatever she does, look, she’s gonna do great, and I wish her all the best.”

Fox has not publicly given a specific reason for Bartiromo’s departure, which has added to the attention surrounding the announcement. The network described the move as a business decision in a subsequent statement.

Bartiromo’s departure ends a more than 12-year run at Fox News Media, where she became a prominent presence on both Fox Business and Fox News. Her final appearance on the network came Aug. 9, weeks before Fox publicly announced that she was leaving.
