Strait Talk: Trump Wants to Rename Strait of Hormuz After Himself

Another day, another geographical name change.

This time, President Donald Trump looked no further than his own name for this change — making the Strait of Hormuz “Trump Strait.”

The president floated the idea Wednesday on Truth Social.

“Now that we have it under U.S.A. control, should we change the name Hormuz Strait to TRUMP STRAIT???” Trump asked. “Like America itself, it would be ‘hotter’ than ever before! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

The post came on the heels of Trump wanting to change Lake Ontario to Lake America after a trade deal between the U.S. and Canada collapsed at the last minute.

Last week, Trump signed an executive order to make the change official on government systems.

Trump also posted a video of Canada geese with machine guns — which the maker of the video dubbed “Donald Ducks” — patrolling the lake.

Then, he posted an AI clip of himself kicking over a sign reading “Lake Ontario” and replacing it with a Lake America sign.

On Sunday, Trump announced he wanted the U.S. to reject all Canadian products unless those Canadian companies are willing to relocate to the U.S.

“I don’t want Canadian cars, I don’t want Canadian parts, I don’t want Canadian anything,” Trump said.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford told ABC News “no one” will call the Great Lake Lake America.

Google and Apple have changed the name on their map app.

A new poll from Reuters/Ipsos on Tuesday revealed the renaming of Lake Ontario isn’t that popular with only 14% of Americans liking the name change, according to the poll.
