How to share your faith with a friend
For anyone ready to talk belief with a friend and keep the friendship whole.

You share faith by listening longer than you speak and by handing the next step to them.
Set aside thirty free minutes, face them at a quiet table, and keep your own story under two minutes.
Place your phone face-down out of reach. Both voices stay low if the spot is right. Shift to a slower bench if noise rises.
Nod once when they pause. Check your watch under the table edge. Breathe out and close your lips if a reply forms early.
Say out loud: "What gets you through a hard week?" Let the full answer land. Stay quiet ten more seconds if they shrug, then rephrase once only.
Begin with the single moment that shifted you. Stop at what it means today. Cut the ending short if their gaze drops.
Count one-Mississippi to five under your breath. Keep hands still on the table. Let them take the next turn; do not fill the air.
Say: "If you ever want to talk more about this, I'm here." Change the subject or sit quiet. Open palms stay on the table if more words push up.
Send only: "Thinking of you—hope the week is steady." Match whatever length they give back. Wait another two weeks before any faith mention if they stay quiet.
The most common mistake
Pushing past their first silence is the most common mistake. Fix it by counting the five beats out loud in your head and only speaking after they do.
Pro tip
Practice the two-minute story once out loud the night before so the words stay short in the moment.
