Kansas Man Arrested For Threatening Trump Rally And Mapping Roof Spots

You might think threats are just angry words typed in the dark. A 24-year-old man in Kansas actually mapped out roofs for a presidential speech. He did this on Facebook just before President Trump spoke in Park City. The man, Jaden Read, claimed he had specific ammunition ready to use. Authorities arrested him over the weekend after seeing his posts.

The Specific Threats Posted Online

Read allegedly wrote several chilling comments on news articles about the rally. ABC News reported that he asked, “Let’s shoot Trump honestly, where’s our shooter? I’m tired of living this money life.” He did not stop there. “I just got a 308 and 305 round and I’m killing this pedo,” he later added. These were not vague complaints about politics. He named the weapon types he claimed to own.

His posts got more detailed as time passed. A minute later, he posted, “IK where your speech will be. Already mapped out roofs around.” He also referenced the assassination of Charlie Kirk with a specific phrase. Breitbart noted the rally atmosphere went nuclear as Trump made his entrance, but Read was plotting something else entirely.

The Arrest and Missing Guns

A tip about these posts led police to Read’s home in Clearwater. ABC News confirmed he was taken into federal custody on Saturday. Prosecutors did not say if they found any guns on him. They also did not confirm if he actually planned the attack or just talked big. U.S. Attorney Ryan Kriegshauser issued a clear warning to the public. “Political violence and threats of political violence will not be tolerated,” he stated. He added that the First Amendment allows disagreement but there are limits. “I caution people to stay within the bounds of constitutionally protected speech,” he said.

Trump did not mention the threats during his Monday evening speech. The White House referred questions to the Secret Service. They did not offer a direct comment on the specific arrest. This silence leaves many questions about the security details. Did the Secret Service know about the roof maps before the event? The sources do not say yet.

What We Must Watch Next

This case shows how easily a keyboard can turn into a weapon plan. Read claimed to have a .308 and .305 round ready to fire. He claimed to know the exact location of the speech. Yet no weapons were recovered at the time of his arrest. This gap between words and physical proof is what the courts must now sort out. Washington Times reported that Read is now in federal custody awaiting further action.

We need to know if he had help or if he acted alone. The “Finna get kirked” comment suggests he was inspired by other violence. That connection worries anyone who values safety in their town. The U.S. Attorney said threats will not be tolerated, but we must see the full case file. Did the police find the guns he said he had? If not, was this just a dangerous cry for attention or a real plan? The answer matters for every community holding a rally.
