Trump Reveals The One Backup Plan To Stop A Democratic Takeover

Rep. Jim Jordan is hitting the road hard. He has visited 115 districts across 34 states this cycle. This is a record-breaking push to save the House majority. Meanwhile, President Trump has a simple backup plan. If Democrats take control, he will become Mr. Veto. This is the new reality heading into Tuesday’s midterms.

The schedule is brutal. Jordan will spend 19 consecutive days on the road. He is stopping in states like Washington, Texas, and Florida. A source familiar with his travel told Fox News about the pace. Jordan said the events mix fundraising with rallies. “Sometimes they’re fundraisers, sometimes they’re rallies, sometimes they’re both,” Jordan said. His message stays the same. Republicans cut taxes and secure the border. Democrats will make it all worse.

Trump’s Backup Plan

President Trump spoke to Miranda Devine on her “Pod Force One” podcast. He laid out a clear strategy for a divided government. “I guess I’ll become Mr. Veto,” the president told The Post’s Miranda Devine. He told her he will not let Democrats ruin the country. “I’m not going to let them ruin it,” Trump continued. He believes this path leads to deals. “And then at some point, we’ll probably make deals,” Trump said.

History shows this works. Trump vetoed 10 bills during his first term. So far, he has only vetoed two bills during his second term. According to the New York Post, he expects a similar outcome if the opposition takes charge. “They’ll be sending stuff up. You veto it,” Trump said. He thinks they will waste time. “And eventually, after a month or two of getting all vetoed, they’re just wasting [time], they come over, and you make a deal,” Trump said.

The High Stakes

Jordan knows the risks. He told Fox News about his fear of what Democrats might do. “We’re doing everything we can just to help our team win, because … if these Democrats get in there, my real concern, I gotta be honest, is what they’re gonna try to do to the structure of our government,” Jordan said. He also addressed the cost of living. “We understand things cost a little too much, and we’re working on that,” Jordan said. He blames the previous administration for high prices.

Trump is also campaigning across the country. He is not up for reelection this year. According to the Washington Examiner, his goal is to energize his base. He wants to get low propensity voters to the polls. This support is vital for Republican candidates statewide. The plan relies on pressure. Veto power forces the other side to the table. It is a test of will.

The Final Push

The timeline is tight. Tuesday marks the day voters decide the House. Jordan is in the thick of it. Trump is ready to use his pen if needed. The strategy is clear. Block the bad bills. Force the good deals. According to the Washington Examiner, Trump believes this approach has worked before. “I mean this is, this wouldn’t be the first time, you’ll have president, and he won’t have the House or the Senate,” Trump said. The voters will see if the plan holds.
