Trump Reveals The Real Reason He Regrets His Three Picks

President Trump told Time magazine that his three Supreme Court nominees have “voted against me too often.” This statement marks a sharp turn from his past praise of these judges. He explicitly stated he regrets nominating all three justices he appointed during his first term.

The president detailed specific frustrations with their recent decisions. In February, Justices Gorsuch and Barrett voted to nullify his new 10% baseline tariff, he observed. Businesses are entitled to over $100 billion in refunds due to this ruling. Trump called the tariff decision “disastrous for the country” in a report by the New York Post.

The Cost of Court Decisions

Trump argued that a simple clause could have prevented this financial hit. He stated that a simple clause declaring paid money non-refundable would have saved $400 billion. He added that the justices “chose not to save that” money. These figures come directly from his comments reported by Breitbart.

He also criticized the court’s June ruling on birthright citizenship. The court found his order restricting this policy unlawful. Justices Barrett and Kavanaugh joined the majority while Gorsuch dissented. Trump told Breitbart it was unfortunate what they did to the country, not him. He called the court a “corrupt business” because of this decision.

Comparing Loyalty and Decisions

Trump contrasted his appointees with Democratic justices on the bench. He claimed the three Democratic justices “stick like glue” and virtually never vary. He stated they have loyalty to Barack Hussein Obama. He also claimed they remain loyal to Biden, even though Biden “doesn’t even know who the hell they are”. This quote appears in reporting from the New York Post.

When asked if he wanted loyalty, Trump clarified his stance. He said, “No, I don’t want loyalty. I want good decisions.” Reiterating his point, he said he gave them a lifetime position, yet they frequently vote against him. According to RedState, he stated that his justices were not the individuals he interviewed for the United States Supreme Court.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote that the justices are “merely a shell of their original selves.” He claimed the Supreme Court has “really let our Country down!” He additionally wrote that certain Justices are terrified of these crazed and depraved Democrats. These posts were cited by RedState in their coverage.

The president admitted he cannot undo the nominations now. He replied to a question about regret by saying, “Yeah. Yeah. What can I do? I put them in.” He noted that the justices vote for him too, but the frequency of opposing votes has caused his frustration. The reporting from Time, Breitbart, and the New York Post confirms these specific quotes and claims.
