Trump Slams Tech CEOs Who Want to Slow Down AI

The Plan Was to Slow Down
The plan was for big tech bosses to hit the brakes on artificial intelligence. Then President Trump stepped in and told them to stop pretending. He sees a different game entirely.
While industry leaders call for a pause, the President says they are actually helping our biggest rival.
According to Fox News, Trump wrote on Truth Social that there is a “SICK conspiracy going on against AI and Data Centers, and the only one that is happy about it is China.” He believes these slowdown calls are a trick to let China take the lead.
The Tech Titans’ Call for a Pause
Some of the most powerful people in Silicon Valley are asking for a slowdown. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei started the debate over the weekend. He told companies to “pace the frontier” because systems might get too fast to control. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman agreed, saying firms need to slow down. Even Elon Musk said Amodei was “right.” But the President has a sharp response for these warnings. He wrote that the Trump Administration has already stopped bad actors from doing “things.”
He added that the federal government holds “tremendous CRIMINAL and REGULATORY power over these companies.” He sees no need for more rules from the industry itself. Per Daily Wire, Trump says he has “said it from the very beginning” that whoever wins this race, wins the future.
A President Who Won’t Back Down
Here is the thing: the President thinks the industry is overreacting. He argues that safety does not come from stopping work. Trump wrote that the only control AI needs is a “STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!” He is not just talking about AI. He also backed Flock surveillance cameras while flying on Air Force One.
He told reporters, “I sort of like them because of that, because of law enforcement, but some people don’t.” He knows critics worry about privacy, but he sees these tools as vital for catching criminals. He believes the technology will be “more good than bad.” His message to the tech world is clear and direct. He told them, “Stop pretending you need anyone else’s permission.”
Who Actually Wins This Race
The final line is simple and it cuts deep.Trump declared, “WHOEVER WINS AI, WINS! We are leading China, and all others, and will continue to do so.” He argues that the U.S. must keep moving forward to stay ahead. While others ask for permission, he says we are already leading by a lot.
He wants American companies to build without fear and sees a clear path where American strength beats foreign delay. Trump believes that whoever wins AI wins everything.
