The Speech Stopped Short

During the RNC convention, a man in a purple shirt ran onto the floor and waved a Mexican flag. Security moved fast to pull him away. Chants of “USA” filled the room as the crowd reacted. The moment turned chaotic in seconds.

Vice President JD Vance did not skip a beat. He paused his prepared notes to address the scene directly. Vance joked, “Well, my friend, if you love Mexico so much, get your ass over there,” according to the New York Post.

He added a promise to the man being dragged out. “I’ll buy you the plane ticket,” Vance said. The crowd erupted in cheers and applause. The disruption became the highlight of the night.

A New Speech Takes Shape

Vance told the audience he had a different plan ready. “Ladies and gentlemen, I had a whole speech written,” he stated. But the interruption forced a change in his message. He decided to speak about the flag wave instead.

“But I think I gotta change it because we just discovered the symbol of the far left: an idiot waving … a Mexican flag at a protest when he should be waving the flag of the United States of America,” Vance said.

He argued the man did not truly love his new home. “As much as that person might wave around a foreign flag, he’d much rather live in Dallas or in Cincinnati, or in any one of our great cities than Mexico,” he stressed.

Some supporters initially thought the flag was Palestinian. Vance clarified the symbol for everyone in the room. The message was clear about who belongs here.

Feuds Resurface at the Podium

The night also saw Vance reignite a personal fight. He targeted Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Vance recalled a mocking question from his opponent.

Vance defended his family against these attacks. “That is what he thinks of my grandfather — a man I loved, and who loved his family unconditionally,” he said. He accused El-Sayed of judging people by their skin color.

“Abdul looks at him, sees the color of his skin, and decides that he could never have loved my wife,” Vance stated. The crowd reacted strongly to this defense of his wife and grandfather.

Vance also warned against political radicals. “To the radicals who wish to abolish my family and the thousands and millions of other families all across our country, we have a simple message for them: Stay the hell away from our kids,” he said. He warned that Democrats plan to control what children can say and do.
