Democrat Amy Acton is projected to be the next governor of Ohio, besting Republican Vivek Ramaswamy.
Current Gov. Mike DeWine (R) has reached his term limit.
Acton, former director of the Ohio Department of Public Health, speaks on having “put partisanship aside to serve the people of Ohio.” She served in DeWine’s administration, who has defended her amid controversies.
Acton stumped on issues such as reducing costs for families, improving education and lowering the cost of healthcare.
Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur, ran for president in 2024 before pulling out and endorsing President Donald Trump. Trump endorsed Ramaswamy in return.
