Democrat Brad Lander is the projected winner in the race to represent New York’s 10th Congressional District.
Lander, who beat out incumbent Rep. Daniel Goldman in the Democratic primary, toppled Republican Jennifer Moore Tuesday.
Moore ran unopposed in the GOP primary, in what was described as a somewhat last-minute entry into the race. Nicki Kane was also on the ballot representing the No Kings Party.
Brooklyn native Jennifer Moore is connected to the Community First Republican Club and entered the race to give voters a choice on the ballot, according to the Post.
“The political earthquake last night of Brad Lander unseating an incumbent has infused interest in this race and my goal is to seize this opportunity and engage more support from voters registered to all parties who oppose Lander’s radical ideology,” Moore told the Post.
Lander’s race against the two-term incumbent Daniel Goldman was centered around Israel-Palestine. Both candidates are Jewish and describe themselves as “liberal Zionists,” but Lander positioned Goldman’s support for Israel as a point of attack.
