Dems Take Control of House

The GOP’s worst nightmare came true Tuesday as the Democrats took control of the U.S. House, flipping the chamber after four years, Decision Desk HQ projects.
The change will have immediate repercussions for the workings of government next year, affecting President Donald Trump’s legislative agenda and setting the stage for countless clashes between the House and White House.
Democrats have vowed to launch a multitude of investigations into Trump and his inner circle. This includes the Jeffrey Epstein scandal; the violence that’s accompanied Trump’s deportation surge; and the president’s personal and family finances, which have ballooned since his return to office last year.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), who is expected to be the next Speaker, has said those investigations will begin immediately.
“Our promise to the country in the new Congress is that, beginning on Day 1, we’re going to hold the crooks accountable,” Jeffries said heading into the elections.
