A former Miss Switzerland is alleging President Donald Trump raped her while she was in the U.S. for a pageant in 1993, an accusation the White House vehemently denies.
Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee included the allegation in a reportreleased Monday.
Beatrice Keul said the alleged assault happened in a hotel suite in New York in November 1993. It allegedly happened after she interacted with Trump and his then-associate Jeffrey Epstein.
She told Democratic staff members on the committee that she met Trump at a press luncheon for the American Dream Pageant at the Plaza Hotel.
Trump owned the hotel at the time.
“During their at least 15-minute introductory conversation, Trump promised Keul that he would arrange a visa for her, stating that ‘Paolo’—a reference to Paolo Zampolli — would ‘take care of that,'” the report said.
“Trump further stated that he personally would ensure her acceptance into New York University (NYU). And he repeatedly offered to take care of her and arrange her travel, insisting either ‘I will take care of you’ or, when she said she could handle her own visa, ‘No no, my friend Paolo will take care of that,'” the report reads.
Keul, who was 24 at the time, said that immediately after that, Epstein approached her and introduced himself as “Don’s best friend” and told her that she would be taken care of.
“Flights, accommodations, you don’t have to worry about anything,” Epstein allegedly told her.
