Charlie Woods, son of famed golfer Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, has committed to play golf at Florida State University.
The Woods family was on hand at Charlie's high school Friday to celebrate.
Tiger, 15-time major winner, and Elin got divorced after Tiger's infidelity was exposed.
Charlie announced the commitment in February.
Charlie Woods, announced earlier this year his commitment to play golf at Florida State University.
"Excited to announce my commitment to play golf at Florida State University — go Noles!" he wrote.
"Congratulations Charlie. I'm so proud of you on entering this next chapter of your life," Tiger commented.
Friday’s public appearance was rare for Tiger, who has remained out of the spotlight since he was arrested in March.
He was arrested on charges of DUI following a car crash. Police found hydrocodone pills in his pocket. It was his second DUI in less than a decade.
Woods previously told law enforcement prior to the field sobriety tests that he underwent seven back surgeries and "over 20 operations on his leg." He told law enforcement that "I take a few" prescription medications.
According to an arrest affidavit deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported observing several signs of impairment at the scene. They noted the golf legend was "sweating profusely" and his movements appeared "lethargic and slow." Law enforcement proceeded to perform field sobriety tests. Woods was instructed to remove his eyeglasses, and the deputy conducting the tests stated that his eyes appeared to be "bloodshot and glassy" and "extremely dilated."
Shortly after the arrest, Woods announced he was seeking treatment.
Nordegren was reportedly "concerned" after the legendary golfer’s arrest.
Tiger's return to the golf course remains to be determined — he has not played since the 2024 Open Championship. He said after his March arrest he was "hoping to" play in April's Masters, but he missed the entire 2026 season.
