The Westwood Town Clerk said her cause of death is pending.
She was born on July 6, 1984, in Washington, D.C.
Her father died in 1997 in a skiing accident. Her mother is the daughter of Frank Gifford and Maxine Avis Ewart; she is Kathie Lee Gifford’s stepdaughter.
Kennedy was dedicated to early childhood education and worked on educational reform for disadvantaged children and people with disabilities. She started her career in New York City as a teacher in the program Teach For America after she graduated college.
She earned a history degree at Georgetown University, then a Master of Science in Early Education from Pace University and a Master of Education in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
In August 2012, she married Liam Kerr. Kyle and Kerr welcomed three children. The couple first welcomed twins, Conor and Josie. Josie died days after her birth. Two years later, they welcomed a second son, Declan. The obituary referred to Kerr as her “former husband.”
For the past six years, she suffered long-term paralysis after she sustained a severe spinal cord injury in 2020.
