Now that the midterm elections are in the rear view mirror, focus has been switched to a possible impeachment for President Donald Trump.
But the president said Wednesday he was "not even a little bit" concerned about another impeachment effort by the empowered Democrats.
He also rejected suggestions he should have changed his campaign strategy or handling of the Iran war.
Trump told reporters that impeachment would backfire on Democrats, reports CNN.
"I think it would destroy the Democrat Party if they did that. Impeachment for no reason. What? For having a successful country? Our country is more successful now than any time in its history," Trump said.
Trump took reporters on an unannounced tour of the ballroom construction site, where he answered dozens of questions about the election and his administration.
The president denied allegations that his extensive campaigning had failed to help Republican candidates.
"No, look, if I were on the ballot, we would've won. You saw the people, they were packed. Thousands and thousands of people at every rally," he said.
"There was such love at those rallies, it was incredible. We weren't able to transfer the love to candidates,” he added.
