Whoopi Goldberg Chides ‘The View’ Audience For Booing Cruz

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg made one thing clear on Wednesday’s show — all guests will be respected.

That’s appears true even if that guest is Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

Goldberg scolded the studio audience when it booed when Goldberg mentioned Cruz early on in the show.

Goldberg talked about Republicans taking part in President Donald Trump’s midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, Wednesday and Thursday.

“You-know-who will be the headliner,” she said, referring to Trump.: “Other speakers include VP JD Vance, Health Secretary RFK Jr., and our guest later on in the show, Senator Ted Cruz. But –”

Goldberg stopped to address the audience who was jeering at the mention of Cruz.

“Uh-uh! No, no, no, no!” she said.

“You know what, let’s – look, this is a place where Barbara Walters made sure that anybody who wanted to come and have a good conversation could come.”

The audience applauded the mention of Walters.

“OK?” Goldberg said. “So, we want people to come, and we want to engage them. We don’t agree with them always, we don’t gel with them always, but we are respectful, and I know you will be too. I know you will be.”

Later, she reminded the audience to mind their Ps and Qs as she was ready to welcome Cruz to the stage.

“We are kicking off the 30th season of “The View” and since day one this table has been open to anyone who wants to have a respectful conversation about issues, no matter what side of the aisle they’re on,” she said.

“So we’re going to continue that tradition right now by welcoming senator and the author of the new biography, ‘Going further: The Incomparable Clarence Thomas.’ Please welcome Ted Cruz,” she said, as Cruz walked on to applause.
