Former Vice President Kamala Harris is focused on the upcoming midterm elections and has not decided whether she will run for president in 2028.
Harris talked about her focus on actress Keke Palmer’s podcast, “Baby This is Keke Palmer.”
During the podcast, Harris talked about the Trump administration, the midterms and her time as vice president. At the end of the episode, Palmer asked Harris about the 2028 election.
“Before I really let you out of here, are you running for president again?”“ Palmer asked Harris.
“I haven’t decided. I haven’t decided yet. I will, I promise,” Harris responded.
Her current focus is on November’s midterms, not 2028.
She is planning to campaign for Democrats across the country in the weeks leading up to Election Day. This includes stops in Mississippi, New Hampshire and Georgia, her office announced Wednesday.
“‘28 doesn’t matter if we don’t do ‘26 right. What’s right in front of us,” Harris said.
Harris is seen as an early favorite to serve as Democratic nominee, recent polls suggest. A Focaldata/Financial Times poll released Sunday showed Harris ahead of others with 30% of respondents saying they would choose her in a 2028 Democratic primary. California Gov. Gavin Newsom followed at 15%.
