The Warning in Dallas
Sen. Ted Cruz spoke to Republicans in Dallas about a serious threat. He warned that a “new and dangerous red-green alliance” is taking over the Democratic Party. Cruz said this group brings communists and Islamists together to sweep the nation. He told the crowd this alliance hates Christians, Jews, capitalism, the Constitution, and America. The remarks came at the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention.
Just one day before the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Cruz made these comments according to the Washington Examiner. He called the 2026 midterm elections a “rendezvous with destiny” for the United States. Cruz argued that the two ideologies share the same enemies. He stated, “They hate Christians. They hate Jews. They hate capitalism. They hate the Constitution, and they hate America,” per the Washington Examiner.
Specific Names and Claims
Cruz singled out several figures as proof of this growing danger. He pointed to New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani as a key example. “And on 9/11, could anyone have imagined that Comrade Mondami would be the mayor of New York,” Cruz asked the crowd. according to the Washington Examiner. Abdul el Sayed, Michigan Senate nominee, and Texas Senate nominee James Talarico were also named by him, along with streamer Hassan Piker. Cruz claimed these people show the true nature of the party’s current struggles. He stated, “When Hassan Piker says America deserved 9/11, believe him,” per the Washington Examiner. Cruz added that when Mamdani talks about seizing production, he means it. He also noted that el Sayed claims an “obligation to comply with Sharia law.” Cruz argued that Sharia law has no place in America. He said it is “fundamentally inconsistent” with the U.S. Constitution, per the Daily Signal.
A Personal History of Hate
Cruz drew from his own family history to explain the danger of communism. He told the audience his family has suffered greatly under communist rule. He stated, “My family has bled and been imprisoned and tortured by communists in Cuba—that’s what communists do,” per the Daily Signal. He then described the violence he says Islamism produces. Cruz listed forced hijabs, stoning of rape victims, and the murder of homosexuals. He linked these acts to the barbarism of October 7th and 9/11. Cruz said, “Islamism likewise produces murder and oppression—from the forced wearing of hijabs to the stoning of rape victims, from the systematic murder of homosexuals to the honor killings and barbarism of October 7th and 9/11,” according to the Daily Signal. He claimed the hate that killed Charlie Kirk and knocked down the twin towers is getting worse. Two assassination attempts on President Trump resulted from this hate, Cruz noted. The Washington Times reported that Cruz framed the Democratic Party as overtaken by this hostile alliance. He ended his point with a simple rule for voters. Cruz said, “A simple truth: When people tell you who they are, believe them,” per the Washington Examiner.
