Muslim gunmen stormed a church in Jordan, killing nine people and wounding nearly 40. The attackers targeted mourners at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in the Karak governorate. The dead themselves became those who arrived to bury the dead. The Jordanian government called the event terrorism and declared three days of national mourning. The United Nations and the European Union condemned the violence immediately.
After the shooting, the attackers recorded a message claiming religious vengeance. Investigators have not yet named the specific perpetrators. Christians in the region see this as a familiar pattern of violence against their community.
The Root of the Violence
Experts point to religious texts as the driving force behind these attacks. The Daily Wire reports that the Quran instructs believers to fight and kill those who reject their faith. It commands followers to capture, besiege, and lie in ambush at every place to kill the polytheists wherever they find them. These verses label non-Muslims as infidels. In societies where this language is common, the stigma turns into real danger for minorities.
Western media often avoids naming this root cause. Poverty or political anger does not explain why churches are the specific targets. The violence flows in one direction because the attackers seek to please a deity by harming those they deem enemies. This is not a random act of crime. It is a deliberate campaign based on ancient religious rules.
France Faces Its Own Crisis
While Jordan mourns, France struggles with massive riots and a deep financial hole. Last weekend, roughly 550,000 people protested across the country, though organizers claim the number reached 800,000. Violence erupted in many of these protests, as rioters looted stores in Paris and attacked police. French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu stated that “far-left” and “ultra-left” groups formed an “insurrectionary plan” against the government.
Hugo Gurdon told the Washington Examiner that extreme groups are using school protests to destroy Western society. He noted that students asked for more money, but the nation simply cannot pay. “There were some protests about schools and, you know, the students were saying they want more money spent, but, you know, France is basically out of money,” Gurdon said. The country already spends 57% of its economy on public services.
France has no more cash to spend on these demands. Its 10-year bond yield recently hit its highest level in 24 years. Gurdon argued that these groups want to replace free markets with communist control. They do not just want better schools. They want to bring down the entire system. The government is now deploying military units to stop the next round of violence.
What This Means for You
These events show a clear threat to freedom and safety in the West. The same mindset that kills Christians in Jordan is fueling chaos in France. It starts with a refusal to follow the law or respect the truth. When leaders ignore the root cause, the violence only gets worse. The Jordanian government staged a ceremony of unity, but it solves nothing for the families burying their children.
Western nations must face the reality that some groups want to destroy the free world. They will not stop until they succeed. We must see the danger for what it is. The attackers in Jordan and the rioters in France share a common goal. They want to end the way we live. Recognizing this link is the first step to stopping them.
