The $10 Million Move
MAGA Inc. has committed $10 million to television and digital ads supporting Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate race, according to the Daily Wire. A Saturday filing submitted to the Federal Election Commission validated this major spending plan. The group is now backing the Republican nominee against Democrat James Talarico in this critical 2026 contest. This is the first big money move by MAGA Inc. in a competitive general election race.
The spending follows weeks of pleas from Republicans who wanted more help for Paxton. Talarico has already raised $72.0 million for his campaign. Paxton has raised $16.8 million so far. The new funds aim to close that gap as the election nears.
Trump’s Pledge to Spend
President Donald Trump said he is ready to spend heavily to help Republican candidates. In a Friday Oval Office appearance, he declared he possessed approximately $1 billion via MAGA Inc., telling reporters he would spend whatever amount of money necessary to try and help the party. Trump expects to allocate between $400 million and $500 million for the midterms.
A spokesperson for the group explained the goal clearly. Alex Pfeiffer, a MAGA Inc. spokesman, stated that the group is going to ensure Texas knows about Talarico’s radical policies and elects Ken Paxton to the U.S. Senate. The Democratic opponent has outspent Paxton on ads in recent months. Paxton himself asked for outside help in August to compete with Talarico’s television spending.
Pressure on the GOP
Republican leaders have sounded alarms about the lack of outside spending in Texas. Members hoped MAGA Inc. would use its resources soon. They argued that candidates need financial support heading into November. The group’s new Texas spending comes as Trump faces pressure to deploy his war chest more broadly. He has endorsed many candidates but made few expenditures before this Texas announcement.
Strategist Karl Rove warned that time is running out for the party. He told Fox News Radio that time is running out. Rove said the president needs to toss money Paxton’s way to run ads depicting Talarico. If they do not act, Talarico might run a message about Paxton’s past all the way to victory. Some Republicans worry the money will be spent too late or not at all.
A Tough Road Ahead
The Texas Republican ticket is collectively underperforming this year. If he were the nominee, incumbent Sen. John Cornyn would have found it easier to raise funds. He is plugged in with donors and has less political baggage. Cornyn lost his primary runoff by 27.6 points, suggesting a base enthusiasm problem. Other Republican Senate candidates are also struggling in states like Alaska and Ohio.
Paxton trails by just 2.4 points in recent polling data. The national money could be spent in other races with cheaper media markets. Republicans are still defending a Senate seat in Maine and eyeing pickups in Michigan. The $10 million investment is a direct response to the urgent need for cash in Texas.
