Lara Trump: I Would ‘Love to Consider’ Filling Rubio’s Seat If Asked

Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump told Fox News she would “seriously consider” taking Sen. Marco Rubio’s, R-Fla., place in the Senate when he steps down to become secretary of state.

Trump, President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, said she “would love to serve the people of Florida” and “would love to consider” representing the Sunshine State in the Senate should she be asked by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The president-elect picked Rubio to be his secretary of state. If Rubio is confirmed, he will resign from the Senate and DeSantis would pick a replacement in the interim until a special election is held.

Lara Trump received approval from Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who said he “would be like over-the-top excited” and added Republicans “could not do better … than Lara Trump.”

Lindsey Graham is latest Trump surrogate to push Lara Trump for Senate:

“That would be up to Desantis, but we could not do better on the Republican side than Lara Trump.”

This is not remotely true. @RonDeSantis must hold the line.

She also received a thumbs up from Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., who posted on X, formerly Twitter.

“(Lara Trump) would be a GREAT Senator and represent Floridians well!” the former governor of Florida wrote.

Rubio has been in the Senate since 2011.
