Trump is not pleased with Birx’s response to Pelosi’s criticism.
Birx explained her actions as she defended her work.
“And to everybody who lives in a rural area, you are not immune or protected from this virus.”
“I think the president has been spreading disinformation about the virus and she is his appointee.”
According to Birx, there is a distinct difference between the two.
“We don’t have that plan right now.”
Birx is urging Americans to change their behavior now as the virus continues to spread.
“Well, Dr. Birx is right outside.”
“The South, which didn’t experience a significant outbreak through the March-April timeframe, I think came at this opening in a different way than the Northeast or the Midwest that had experience with the outbreak.”
Birx fears Americans may now have a false sense of security about coronavirus.
“We’re trying to understand, during this period of coming out of a closure, how do we maintain openness and safety.”
Birx’s email highlights concerns in the government’s allocation of the drug remdesivir.
Birx is not so sure about the CDC’s system for tracking data.
“She’s the person who’s constantly reviewing the numbers, constantly reviewing the data.”
“No one has stopped those guidelines, we’re still in editing.”
“So we need to protect each other at the same time we’re voicing our discontent.”
“If we’re going to go back let’s do something about COVID.”
“We know that talking, singing, certainly sneezing and coughing, can pass the virus on to others.”
“I worry that we don’t get the information to the American people that they need when we continue to bring up something that was from Thursday night.”
