The bond they have created over the years makes them more like family than friends, and hopefully they will spend many more holidays together. 

Thankfully, Anna Quinlan, Gadd's friend of 10 years, knew just how to come alongside and support her friend.

They checked multiple times to ensure that their guests were still able to attend, and everything seemed good.

There was no way out. The family was surrounded by water. Many of their possessions had been lost or damaged.
