Former President Donald Trump insists the assassination attempt that he narrowly survived did not change him.

During a rally on Wednesday, Trump called Vice President Kamala Harris “Lyin’ Kamala” and a “total radical on a word… abortion.”

“These are nasty people, the Democrats,” he continued. “We better beat them or we’re not gonna have a country left. You’re not gonna have a country left. So now we have a new victim to defeat. Lyin’ Kamala Harris. Lyin’ – L-Y-I-N apostrophe.”

He went on:

“You know, I was supposed to be nice. They say something happened to me when I got shot. I became nice.”

He added, “And when you’re dealing with these people. They’re very dangerous people. When you’re dealing with them, you can’t be too nice. You really can’t be. So, if you don’t mind, I’m not gonna be nice! Is that OK? They want me to be nice.”

The crowd cheered in response.
