President Donald Trump has said he does not believe the Attack on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) Tuesday night was a spontaneous protest.
Trump spoke with ABC Newsâ Rachel Scott after the incident when a man sprayed Omar with unknown liquid, per Mediaite.
Scott asked Trump if he saw a video of the Attack.
âNo. I donât think about her. I think sheâs a fraud. I really donât think about that. She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her,â Trump said andScott posted on X.
âI havenât seen it. No, no. I hope I donât have to bother,â Trump added.
Omar was conducting a town hall in Minneapolis, where she called for the resignation of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after recent events in Minneapolis where two citizens have been killed.
As Omar spoke, a man advanced towards the podium and an unidentified substance at Omar.
The man was immediately taken into custody.
âWe will continue,â Omar said. âThis f**king a**hole is not getting away with this.â
Police identified the man as Anthony J. Kazmierczak, 55.
Trump and Omar, originally from Somalia, have been feuding for some time.
Trump wrongly claimed at a rally last year that Omar was âhere illegally.â This incited the crowd to yell, âSend her back!â
Just last week, Trump called for the lawmaker to be investigated for âpolitical crimes.â
He has also called Omar âgarbageâ and declared he does not want any Somalis in the U.S.
âThey contribute nothing. I donât want them in our country, Iâll be honest with you,â the president last month. âSome will say that is not âpolitically correct.ââ I donât care. Their country is no good for a reason.â
