You can’t make this stuff up. Some folks out there are so deep into their pets and their politics that they’re willing to turn reality upside down, light it on fire, and parade the ashes around Seattle like it’s some kind of moral victory.

Like this circus act coming out of Seattle. A woman named Lauren Ann Lombardi — clearly with too much time and not enough reality in her life — decides to sue the United States Navy. Not just the Navy, but two Blue Angel pilots and even the poor schmuck running their Instagram. Why? Because her cat died. And not just died — died, she claims, because of fighter jets doing flyovers during Seafair.

Layla the cat, decked out in a dress and a lace choker like some feline debutante, had heart issues. The vet gave it a shot in the hindquarters, but hey, why let basic biology ruin a perfectly good victim narrative? Lombardi says the jets caused panic attacks, sent Layla’s heart racing, and forced her to make the decision to euthanize. Cue the lawsuit, complete with melodramatic lines about “sadistic suffering” and “relentless noise pollution.”

A woman from Seattle is standing firm on her lawsuit against the U.S. Navy, claiming the noise and disruptions from the Blue Angels caused the death of her cat.

You’d think that would be enough crazy for one day, but no — Seattle never does anything halfway. Lombardi wants her Navy-blocked Instagram restored and demands the pilots undergo “First Amendment Training.” Because nothing says constitutional rights like screaming at fighter pilots over cat trauma.

And of course, in true Seattle fashion, it’s not just one cat lady. Oh no, she’s part of a movement. A group petitioning to shut down the entire airshow because apparently jets offend their delicate sensibilities. They want to “reimagine Seafair” with quiet electric boats and planes, because nothing says thrilling waterfront celebration like the gentle hum of a battery-powered dinghy.

And just when you think you’ve seen it all, they go full billboard. Yes, there’s actually a billboard with big bold words: “Too Loud,” “War Trauma,” “Pollution.” Underneath, five people holding signs — a carefully curated display of diversity, plus a dog, because apparently even pets have political opinions now. I didn’t see a rainbow flag, so I’m sure they’re already drafting a sternly worded memo.

These people are just anti-fun.https://t.co/nOksCunaze pic.twitter.com/AntOjbxQHM

Aedan McCall, the designer behind this performance art, lived on Mercer Island for a decade and says the Blue Angels made them leave. They toss out numbers about carbon emissions and “militarism,” as if jets flying for a few hours are the downfall of civilization.

In a sane place, this would be dismissed with an eye roll. But in Seattle? The land of CHAZ, where logic goes to die and lawsuits sprout like weeds? Let’s just say, the nuts aren’t just falling off the tree — they’re building billboards and demanding electric airplanes. And the rest of us are just sitting here, shaking our heads, wondering how much more absurd it can get. Stay tuned.
