Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is railing against Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) for his relationship with President Donald Trump and voicing his opposition to him maintaining his seat.

MSNBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin asked Reid on Tuesday if he thinks Graham will hold onto his seat and what he makes of how he has conducted himself in his relationship with Trump.

“It’s very hard for me to say this because Lindsey and I have worked together on stuff and when John McCain died, he just went to the dark side. He was happier playing golf with Donald Trump,” Reid said.

He added, “I hope that Lindsey loses. That’s difficult for me to say, but I sure hope he loses.”

Graham faces a tight re-election battle against Democratic challenger Jaime Harrison.

Overall, Harrison has raised and spent more than $100 million, the most of any Senate candidate in American history.

By the time the winner is declared, Graham and Harrison are expected to spend as much as $200 million combined.

In 2013, Harrison was elected the first African American chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party.

He previously served as an aide to House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.).

Former President Barack Obama posted a video to Instagram earlier this month to reveal why voters should back Harrison, as IJR previously reported.

“Hey, South Carolina. If you want a senator who will fight for criminal justice reform, lower college costs and make health care affordable, you’ve got to vote for my friend Jaime Harrison,” Obama said.

He continued, “This year, you can vote early, or you can vote on Election Day, November 3. Early voting is happening right now. Go to iwillvote.com to find your early vote location. Make your plan and vote for Jaime today.”
