Audience members were reassured they could clap for Vice President Kamala Harris during an event at the White House.
On Thursday, audience members were asked to stand as Harris entered the room.
A smattering of applause could be heard, which led White House adviser Keisha Lance Bottoms to say, “You can clap. It’s okay.”

Meanwhile, another person noted, “And still they didn’t.”
During the same event, Harris suggested audience members should “always ask” if there is a Venn diagram for a situation.
“I’m telling you, it’s fascinating when you do,” she continued. “Venn diagram those three circles, right?”

During her tenure as vice president, Harris has repeatedly faced criticism of her communication skills.
Still, some Democrats have praised her job performance and predicted she could be a future Democratic presidential nominee.
