President Joe Biden says he does not want to talk about his predecessor anymore.
During a town hall event hosted by CNN on Tuesday evening, Biden was asked if he agrees with House Speaker Nancy Pelosiās (D-Calif.) assertion that Republican senators who voted to acquit former President Donald Trump are ācowards.ā
āIām not going to call names out,ā Biden responded.
He continued, āLook, for four years, all thatās been in the news is Trump. The next four years, I want to make sure all the news is the American people. Iām tired of talking about Trump. Itās done.ā

Ahead of the Senateās Impeachment trial of Trump, Biden said, āI am just anxious to see what my Republican friends do. Will they stand up?ā
Just days later, the Senate acquitted Trump on the charge of āincitement of insurrection.ā Seven Republicans voted with Democrats to convict the former president.
However, there was not the required two-thirds majority, or 67-votes, to convict Trump.
After the vote, Pelosi released a scathing statement railing against the Republicans who voted to acquit Trump, as IJR reported.
āSenate Republicansā refusal to hold Trump accountable for igniting a violent insurrection to cling to power will go down as one of the darkest days and most dishonorable acts in our nationās history,ā she wrote.
She added, āTragically, Senate Republicans who voted not to convict chose to abandon the Constitution, the Country and the American people with this vote. Thank God for the judges and Republican elected officials across the country who pushed back against Donald Trumpās attempted overturning of our election which fueled the insurrection.ā
