Actress Candace Cameron Bure denied allegations she wanted the first queer character on “Fuller House” removed from the show.
In a statement to People, Bure, 47, addressed the claims made by actor Miss Benny, 24, who identifies as a transgender woman.
“I never asked Miss Benny’s character to be removed from ‘Fuller House’ and did not ask the writers, producers or studio executives to not have queer characters on the show,” Bure, who played DJ Tanner on the Netflix show’s revival of “Full House,” said.
