Actor Chris Pratt has spoken about the importance of depending on Jesus Christ when addressing his haters.

On Monday, Pratt, 43, spoke with Page Six exclusively at a screening of his upcoming Marvel movie ā€œGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3″ and got candid about the criticism he has received for being bold about his Faith.

ā€œI sure do but that’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know?ā€ Pratt said.

He also referenced scripture as his defense.

ā€œIf I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20,ā€ he added.

Pratt used Jesus Christ as an example.

ā€œThat’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too,ā€ the ā€œJurassic Worldā€ star shared.

In June 2022, Pratt spoke with Men’s Health about the backlash he received for attending Hillsong Church, which has been deemed as ā€œinfamously anti-LGBTQ.ā€

ā€œNothing could be further from the truth. I go to a Church that opens their doors to absolutely everyone,ā€ Pratt previously wrote on his Instagram story, according to People.

He continued, ā€œMy Faith is important to me but no Church defines me or my life, and I am not a spokesman for any Church or any group of people. My values define who I am. We need less hate in this world, not more.ā€

Pratt added that he was ā€œa man who believes that everyone is entitled to love who they want free from the judgment of their fellow man.ā€
