Singer Dolly Parton doesn’t plan on stopping her career of more than 50 years.

In an interview with ā€œGreatest Hits Radio,ā€ Parton, 77, said she’s ā€œnot one to sit around doing nothingā€ and admitted she feels ā€œresponsibleā€ to keep going despite her age.

ā€œI would never retire. I’ll just hopefully drop dead in the middle of a song onstage someday,ā€ she joked, adding she hopes it will be to a song she’s written.

She continued, ā€œAnyhow, that’s how I hope to go. Of course, we don’t have much of a choice in that.ā€

Parton revealed she plans to keep working as long as she can while her ā€œhealth is goodā€ and her ā€œhusband is good.ā€

ā€œI mean, the only way that I would ever slow down or stop would be for that reason. But in the meantime, I’m gonna make hay while the sun shines,ā€ she said.

Parton also revealed what her plans were for the future.

She shared:

ā€œI have new dreams every day. I want to have my own network TV show where I can actually do a lot of new things and produce and I want to have my own story called ā€˜The Life of Many Colors,’ where I have a whole series of my life, stuff that people haven’t seen or known or heard about and my people where I come from, how I’ve got to be and how and who I am, but to really have the behind the scenes and the adventures of my life.ā€Ā

Additionally, Parton said she wanted to have her own line of makeup, wigs, and clothes.

ā€œSo those things all come under that ā€˜branding’ which we’re doing so much of now,ā€ she explained.Ā

Parton continued, ā€œSo, once you get to a certain place in your career, you get a lot of offers and some of them are just a little hard to turn down.ā€
