Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) is being mocked and criticized over a tweet he sent about women who are against overturning Roe v. Wade.
In a tweet Wednesday morning, Gaetz asked, âHow many of the women rallying against overturning Roe are over-educated, under-loved millennials who sadly return from protests to a lonely microwave dinner with their cats, and no bumble matches?â
Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) responded, âRepublicans like Matt Gaetz are for government-mandated pregnancy, against education, and against cats.â
âYou can help on campaigns to decide whether or not he is in the majority this November (assuming he isnât indicted by the DOJ who is investigating him for sex crimes),â he added.
Meanwhile, MSNBCâs Joy Reid chimed in, âThis is revelatory. And letâs just be clear: itâs how most of his party view women: as nothing more than vessels for menâs pleasure and procreation. Getting an education defeats the prime directive of being young, dumb, barefoot and pregnant. Now you see why this guy dates teens.â

Gaetzâs tweet comes after Politico published a report based on a leaked draft of an opinion that appeared to indicate the Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wade.
President Joe Biden called it a âreally a radical decisionâ if it holds.
He continued, âThe underlying premise â and again Iâve not had a chance to thoroughly go into the decision â but it basically says all the decisions relating to your private life â who you marry, whether or not you decide to conceive a child or not, whether or not you can have an abortion, a range of other decisions, how you raise your child â what does this do?â
âDoes this mean that in Florida, they can decide theyâre going to pass a law saying that same-sex marriage is not permissible? Itâs against the law in Florida. So, itâs a fundamental shift in American jurisprudence,â Biden suggested.
