âFriendsâ actress Jennifer Aniston revealed how late co-star Matthew Perry was doing the day he died.
In an interview with Variety, Aniston, 54, said she wasnât aware anything was wrong after talking with him that morning, revealing he was âhappyâ and âhealthy.â
âHe had quit smoking. He was getting in shape. He was happy â thatâs all I know,â she shared.
She continued, âI was literally texting with him that morning, funny Matty. He was not in pain. He wasnât struggling.â
Aniston further emphasized that Perry was âhappy.â

Anistonâs âThe Morning Showâ co-star Reese Witherspoon chimed in and said she believes, âItâs important people know that.â
âIt is,â Aniston responded, âI want people to know he was really healthy, and getting healthy. He was on a pursuit.â
âHe worked so hard,â she added.
The Golden Globe award winner continued:
âHe really was dealt a tough one. I miss him dearly. We all do. Boy, he made us laugh really hard.â
Perry was found dead in his jacuzzi on Oct. 28 following an apparent drowning at his Los Angeles home, TMZ reported. He was 54 years old.
On Nov. 15, Aniston posted a touching tribute to him on her Instagram page.
âHaving to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that Iâve never experienced before. We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love,â she wrote in the caption of memories she shared of the two.
She added, âBeing able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deeply.â
Aniston also said the âFriendsâ cast âloved him deeplyâ and âHe was such a part of our DNA.â
âWe were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be,â she shared.
