Nerves got the best of Kai Trump as she made her LPGA debut Thursday at The Annika in Belleair, Florida.Ā
The presidentās granddaughter placed last out of 108 competitors with a 13-over 83, according to Fox News.
Trump, 18, bogeyed the nine times, had two double bogeys and was unable to get one birdie.
āI was definitely more nervous than I expected, but I thought I hit a lot of great shots out there,ā she said. āI hit a lot of good shots just to the wrong spots.ā
Trump, despite placing last, called the experience āpretty cool.ā
āIt was pretty cool because I know I hit it far, but kind of playing with the best players in the world and being literally right there or even outdriving on some of the holes, it felt pretty good,ā she said. āFelt like my game is in a good spot, and especially only being a senior in high school.ā
Before the tourney, Trump got some advice from Golf legend Tiger Woods, who is dating Trumpās mother, Vanessa, IJR previously reported.
āI mean, he is the best golfer in the entire world. I would say that. And even better person,ā she said. āHe told me to go out there and have fun and just go with the flow. Whatever happens, happens.ā
Trump has been a prominent presence on social media and posted on YouTube a video of herself playing with her grandfather at Trump National Golf Club, Washington, D.C., and the when the attended the Ryder Cup.
āI just donāt view it as him being the president. I view it as, heās my grandpa. Weāre gonna go out there and play Golf,ā Kai said in a recent interview. āWe play Golf all the time. Itās nothing new.ā
Trump has said he intends to turn pro.
āIāll try to do that and give it my best shot,ā she said.
