Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said she has always been uncomfortable with what she deemed the âMAGA Mar-a-Lago sexualizationâ of women and vowed to speak out more on the subject, according to a New York Times interview published Monday.
Greene told the NYT she has been planning to speak out about how women at Mar-a-Lago present themselves, according to the article based on two interviews in early December. The phenomenonâdubbed âMar-a-Lago Faceâ by someâinvolves many of President Donald Trumpâs closest allies who appear to have undergone plastic surgery and other exaggerated cosmetic choices.
âI never liked the MAGA Mar-a-Lago sexualization. I believe how women in leadership present themselves sends a message to younger women,â Greene told the NYT. âI have two daughters, and Iâve always been uncomfortable with how those women puff up their lips and enlarge their breasts. Iâve never spoken about it publicly, but Iâve been planning to.â
âThe Mar-a-Lago Face represents a new era of American luxury aestheticsâengineered, refined, and designed to project control and affluence,â writes plastic surgeon Dr. Shervin Naderi. â modern aristocratic maskâsurgically sculpted to convey affluence, precision, and control. Itâs not about reversing time. Itâs about rewriting the rules of aging.â
Greene in the interviews also lamented a comment made by Trump at the late Charlie Kirkâs Sept. 21 memorial. The president said, â did not hate his opponents. He wanted the best for them. Thatâs where I disagreed with Charlie. I hate my opponent, and I donât want the best for them.â
âThat was absolutely the worst statement,â Greene said of Trumpâs remarks. âIt just shows where his heart is. And thatâs the difference, with her having a sincere Christian faith, and proves that he does not have any faith.â
Greene also went after Speaker of the House Mike Johnson in the interviews, saying âJohnson is not our SpeakerâŚHe is not our leader.â
The Georgia Republicanâs revealing interviews come following her premature departure from the House of Representatives, for which she cited an abandonment of America First priorities and disillusionment with the âpolitical industrial complexâ of modern American Politics, among other issues.
âIf I am cast aside by the president and the MAGA political machine and replaced by neoconâs big pharma, big tech military-industrial war complex, foreign leaders and the elite donor class that can never ever relate to real Americans, then many common Americans have been cast aside and replaced as well,â Greene said in a video announcing her resignation in November. âAmerica first should mean America first, and only Americans first, with no other foreign country ever being attached to America first in our halls of government.â
A special election to fill Greeneâs soon to be vacant seat is expected to take place in March 2026.
