Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Tesla CEO Elon Musk got into a spat on Twitter after she tweeted about “some billionaire with an ego problem.”
“Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Friday.
That prompted Musk to respond, “Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy.”
However, the New York Congresswoman shot back, “I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok.”
According to ProPublica, her response was quickly deleted.
But on Saturday, she tweeted, “Like I said, ego problems.”
The exchange comes after Twitter announced that it had accepted Musk’s offer to buy the company for around $44 billion, as IJR reported.
