Border czar Tom homan has called out a federal judge who is blocking President Donald Trump’s Immigration plans and said Temporary protected status is only supposed to be temporary, not permanent.

During an interview with “Fox & Friends” host Lawrence Jones, Homan said the judge made a “stupid” ruling and noted that he has worked in Immigration for decades and temporary status has never been treated as temporary.

“It’s another activist judge making a stupid ruling. It just doesn’t make sense,” Homan said. “You know, I’ve been around since 1984, Lawrence, and the TPS temporary protective status is never temporary, and President Trump is going to do his job by rule of law. The law says temporary status, once the conditions in that country they’re from, once the conditions change, then people should be removed from the United States, it’s only a temporary status.”

Homan noted that Trump is following through on his campaign promises to the American people, and a big one was promising putting an end to unfettered illegal Immigration.

“For instance, if there’s a hurricane and it devastates a part of the country, we’ll give them TPS until that country gets back on their feet,” Homan said. “But TPS is not meant to be decades long. So, President Trump, who’s promised the American people, we’re going to enforce the laws enacted by Congress and signed by President. We’re going to use the laws of this country to secure the border and enforce our Immigration law. That’s exactly what we’re doing.”

Homan said the judge based his ruling on his own opinion and not on the rule of law which is what he is supposed to do but noted the Trump administration will be fighting the ruling, and they will win.

“TPS needs to be temporary in nature,” Homan said. “We need to follow the rule of law, and not some advice from an activist judge who makes this makes a foolish ruling, not based on law, but based on opinion. If you look at that decision based on opinion, now the rule of law, and that’s what we need to get back to. So, look, we’ll litigate it, and we’ll appeal, and we’ll win.”
