President Donald Trump lashed out at The New York Times on Wednesday, calling the paper “creeps” after it published a story suggesting the 79-year-old president has shown signs of fatigue while in office.
According to Fox News, the article, co-authored by White House correspondent Katie Rogers, was headlined, “Shorter Days, Signs of Fatigue: Trump Faces Realities of Aging in Office.”
It analyzed Trump’s schedule, noting “fewer public events” compared with his first term and that he typically appears in public between noon and 5 p.m.
The report also cited an incident in the Oval Office where Trump appeared to doze off briefly.
Trump, who has frequently mocked former President Joe Biden’s stamina and cognitive abilities in office, reacted strongly on Truth Social.
“The Creeps at the Failing New York Times are at it again,” he wrote. “I won the 2024 Presidential Election in a Landslide, winning all Seven Swing States, the Popular Vote, and the Electoral College by a lot. I settled 8 Wars, have 48 New Stock Market Highs, our Economy is Great, and our Country is RESPECTED AGAIN all over the World… Yet despite all of this the Radical Left Lunatics in the soon to fold New York Times did a hit piece on me that I am perhaps losing my Energy, despite facts that show the exact opposite.”
Trump also targeted Rogers personally, calling her “ugly, both inside and out,” while insisting that recent medical exams confirmed he is in peak physical and cognitive condition.
