The search for someone to replace conservative commentator Meghan McCain’s role on ABC’s “The View” is over.

On Thursday, co-host Whoopi Goldberg said, “We always want to honor Barbara Walter’s original version and vision that different views are presented at this table.”

“You’ve watched the search for a new co-host all season long. And I guess it’s safe to say it’s ending right now. It’s our pleasure to introduce you to our newest co-host,” she added.

The show then played a montage that revealed former Trump administration official Alyssa Farah Griffin will be the new co-host.

Farah Griffin said on Thursday, “If anyone had ever told me I’d be sitting at a table with Whoopi Goldberg, I would have said you are crazy. It is such an honor to be with you ladies every day on the set.”

“I can’t say how much I’ve learned from all of you. And I hope to learn from all of you,” she added.

While the montage noted she provides conservative commentary on the show, Nicholas Fondacaro of the conservative Media Research Center tweeted, “It’s official: faux conservative/Republican Alyssa Farah Griffin has been announced as the new co-host of The View.”

“The clout chasing this real. Farah Griffin calls it an ‘honor’ to be a cast member and wants to learn from the rest of the cast. ‘I’m so proud to have found my voice,’ says the person who changes stances based on $$$. She claims Congress could learn how to act from The View,” he added.

Goldberg announced that commentator Ana Navarro will also be joining the show as a co-host.

“This is not the right time for me, or full the show, to make it full time. I have other work commitments. I have a life. I have a husband in Miami who I thank for understanding my absences. I have a very clingy dog. I have all these things I love in Miami. Leaving all that behind every week is tough. But I also love, love, love doing this show,” Navarro said as she explained she will not start as a full-time co-host right away.

She added, “It’s a huge, enormous, incomparable privilege to be part of a 25-year institution.”

The show has been searching for a new co-host after McCain announced in July 2021 that she would be leaving.

“It took a lot of thought and counsel and prayer and talking to my family and my close friends,” she said at the time, adding, “I feel like this is just the right decision for me at this moment.”
