In the wake of a leaked draft opinion from the Supreme Court that appears to show it is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, the Women’s March is calling for a “summer of rage.”
In a tweet on Sunday, the Women’s March wrote, “Yesterday, we took to the streets and showed the strength of our movement.”
“Tomorrow, we keep fighting. This will be a Summer of Rage across America,” it added.
The tweet comes after thousands gathered across the U.S. for “Bans Off Our Bodies” protests.
The Week reports Women’s March President Rachel Carmona said, “For the women of this country, this will be a summer of rage. We will be ungovernable until this government starts working for us, until the attacks on our bodies let up, until the right to an Abortion is codified into law.”
The Women’s March website states that its goal is “to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change.”
“Women’s March is committed to dismantling systems of oppression through nonviolent resistance and building inclusive structures guided by self-determination, dignity and respect,” it adds.
