‘Young Turks’ Co-Host Speaks Out Against Terms Liberals Use to Describe a Woman

Ana Kasparian, co-host of “The Young Turks,” expressed her opposition to certain terms liberal individuals use to describe what a woman is.

On Thursday, she tweeted, “I’m a woman. Please don’t ever refer to me as a person with a uterus, birthing person, or person who menstruates. How do people not realize how degrading this is? You can support the transgender community without doing this sh*t.”

The tweet sparked thousands of responses.

Rapper Zuby replied, “Your ‘side’ is gonna roast you now. I hope you’re ready for the tolerance.”

Kasparian responded, “They have the right to speak their piece, as do I.”

Failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake (R) added, “A broken clock…”

Kasparian then called Lake “an embarrassment to this country and full blown lunatic.”

Host of The Humanist Report YouTube show explained to Kasparian, “I respect you a lot, but this notion that the mere existence of trans-inclusive terms (rarely used in casual convos) somehow degrades women comes right out of the right’s anti-trans ‘war on women’ playbook. There’s a reason why they’re praising you for this.”

She fired back, “Hey Mike, you’re guy who has no clue what it’s like to have your reproductive freedom taken away. But consider what it’s like to have the same lawmakers who failed to protect our rights turn around and call us ‘people with uteruses.’ It’s not inclusive if cis women hate it.”

Author Jordan Peterson told Kasparian she is “about to learn something.”

“The Young Turks” describes the show as “America’s largest online progressive news show.”

The issue of how to define a woman has made headlines recently.

In March of last year, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s refusal to define the word woman during a hearing went viral, as IJR previously reported.

The National Institutes of Health even has a style guide for “Inclusive and Gender-Neutral Language.”

Some of the language includes terms such as “chest feeding” instead of breast feeding and “pregnant people” instead of pregnant women.
